An historical day took place 3 August 2024. Land Use Victoria (now SERV) no longer issue paper Certificates of Title.
All Certificates of Title moving forward are and will be electronic, known as eCT.
All paper Titles remain current until produced for a future transaction at which time they will be converted to eCT and will remain eCT upon completion of the transaction.
Control of the eCT following the transaction will be held by the Mortgagee, a Subscriber of PEXA (ie your conveyancer or solicitor) or the Registrar.
DCV will be nominating the Registrar to hold eCT of any clear Titles from 3 August 2024 onwards. On completion of the transaction DCV will provide the proprietor with an updated Search Statement showing registration of the Title into the name of the proprietor and noting eCT control to The Registrar. DCV can obtain eCT of the Title from the Registrar at anytime by simply emailing the Registrar to obtain control upon instructions from the owner to DCV for a transaction.
